eng European Neo-Pagan Movement: Diversity or Uniformity? This conference papers summarizes some of the main research results of my doctoral thesis. The most crucial claim is that Neo-Paganism resembles by its nature more Christianity than any pre-Christian traditions which are deemed as Pagan. It is especially due to the existence of a doctrine, which both founds practices and also serves Neo-Pagans to self-demarcate against the others. Claim like “I am Pagan” means, that one holds certain beliefs and worldview, where exists a plurality of gods, holiness of nature, etc. The existence of the connection between doctrines and practices, which are their expression is not the only evidence for this claim. It turned out that Christian theological framework still influences our reasoning in the 21st century. Due to this fact, we as contemporary Europeans cannot get access to the traditions of our pre-Christian forefathers. That means that out past is closed to us, unless we are able to get rid of the heritage of the Christian thought. While trying to reconstruct pre-Christian traditions of our forefathers, Neo-Pagans unconsciously create another version of Christianity. paganism; Christianity; religion; history; new religious movements
