eng	Discourse features of spoken learners' language: preparatory stage of a research project	The presentation introduces one part of the bigger research project focused on the analysis of oral students' performances at the beginning of their university studies. After a short outline of the overall goal of the research, the strategies will be described that were used to select particular syntactic structures as typical features of spoken English language. Based on the previous studies of English native speakers' conversation, certain discourse and grammatical features will be chosen, they then will be identified and investigated in learners' corpus and considered within the concept of English as Lingua Franca. Various types of oral performances will be included in the research in order to offer a complex picture of the students' communicative competence. Potential deviations caused by systemic differences between English and Czech languages will be also discussed.	discourse analysis; grammar of spoken English; English as lingua franca; learners' language
