eng Structural Deviations and Syntactic Mistakes in Learners’ Spoken English language The talk presents one aspect of research of the language produced by English language learners when they enter the university studies. Students were interviewed in the first year of their studies as a part of the course of language development, their performance was recorded and consequently the learners were asked to transcribe their own recordings, identify their mistakes and evaluate their accomplishment. The analysis of the corpus, consisting of oral and written version of each interview, is focused mainly on the complexity of their expressions and potential negative influence of their native language.
