Po promítání filmu Bílá na bílé bude následovat diskuse s režisérkou Vierou Čákanyovou.
Bílá na bílé je videodeník režisérky Viery Čákanyové z jejího pobytu na polské antarktické stanici, kde v roce 2017 natáčela film FREM (2019), jehož hlavní postavou byla umělá neuronová síť. Během pobytu vede autorka chatové konverzace s umělou inteligencí, které se dotýkají povahy filmu, umění a smyslu života a odhalují způsob myšlení oproštěný o lidskost a emocionalitu, nutící k hluboké introspekci. Záběry z každodenní rutiny na stanici kontrastují s lyrickými scénami člověkem neposkvrněné antarktické přírody, jež autorka doplňuje svými komentáři a myšlenkami, vyprovokovanými osamělostí ledem pokryté krajiny.
Událost pořádá Centrum pro etiku Fakulty filozofické Univerzity Pardubice jako součást třídenního workshopu Environmental Grief, Hope, and Beyond. Vstup je zdarma.
This 72 minute film will be followed by an in-person discussion with the director, Viera Čákanyová.
White on White is director Viera Čákanyová’s video diary that she kept while staying at the Polish Antarctic station, where in 2017 she shot the film FREM (2019), whose main character was an artificial neural network. During her stay, the author chats with various artificial intelligences, leading conversations that touch on the nature of film, art, and the meaning of life while also revealing a way of thinking that’s free from humanity and from an emotionality that forces deep introspection. Footage from her routine, everyday life at the station contrasts with lyrical images of the immaculate Antarctic nature, which the author complements with her own commentary and thoughts provoked by the loneliness of the ice-covered landscape.
This free event is hosted by the Centre for Ethics as Study in Human Value, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, University of Pardubice. It is part of the 3-day Workshop: Environmental Grief, Hope, and Beyond.
