Autor se ve svém článku zaměřuje na méně známá fakta týkající se původu této mince a okolností, za nichž se udržela v africkém oběhu až do druhé poloviny 20. století. eng	European silver in the monetary circulation of North-East Africain the second half of the 18th century	From the mid-18th century to the mid-20th century, the Levantine thaler was an important part of the monetary circulation in Northeast Africa. It was a silver coin weighing 28 g and having a purity of 83.3%, metrologically corresponding to the so-called conventional thaler of the Habsburg monarchy from the mid-18th century. With the original date of 1780 and the image of Empress Maria Theresa, this coin was produced in many European countries and in Asia as an export product, supplied to the money circulation in the countries of the Red Sea region. The author focuses his article on lesser known facts concerning the origin of this coin and the circumstances under which it remained in African circulation until the second half of the 20th century.
