eng Re-imaging the problems of independent African nations and the search for lasting solutions to enhance a brighter future in Africa Western civilisation and culture was gradually introduced into Africa when the Europeans arrived imposing imperial ideologies and exploiting African resources. African scholars, from their research, have shown that this practice continued after independence in African countries. A number of challenges confronted the continent since the independence of African nations. These includes tribalism, religion, massive corruption, colonial legacy, foreign aid, the climate change debate and a host of others. The decolonialisation of Africa was a big challenge for Africans to handle only for Africans to discover that bigger challenges awaited them after the independence of their various countries. The paper argues that, though there are many problems but, the greatest of all is the mindset of the African and that if the mindset of the African is not changed solving the problems is almost impossible. The main objective of this article is to re-image the problems of independent African countries and address the key debates surrounding these issues and how these issues would be addressed in other to enhance a brighter future for the people of the Africa continent. The article will use secondary sou in its analysis to arrive at its conclusion. The findings of this paper proves that the African continent would have a brighter future if the African mindset is changed and the other problems of African nations are sincerely identified and tactfully handled with all passion.
