Zkoumání vycházelo ze studia osobních pozůstalostí uložených v Rodinných archivech Deymů ze Střítěže a schwarzenbergské sekundogenitury. Na jejich příkladě zjišťuje, do jaké míry se v těchto šlechtických rodinách rodiče zajímali o výchovu svých potomků, a jestli měli povědomí o moderních teoretických názorech na ni. Těžištěm práce jsou úvahy o roli šlechtické rodiny při výchově potomků a rovněž změny v rodinných vztazích na počátku 19. století. Analýza deníku uherské šlechtičny, hraběnky Josephiny Stackelbergové , rozené Brunswickové, ovdovělé Deymové přinesla řadu zajímavých především teoretických názorů na roli vychovatelů a učitelů ve šlechtických rodinách. Kapitoly o výchově synů Karla I. ze Schwarzenbergu vytváří pomocí syntézy existujících archivních pramenů ? sem patří hlavně korespondence, deníky, přípravy a vysvědčení ? skutečný obraz šlechtické výchovy v 19. století.
eng	Education of nobleman in the first half of 19th century	The research paper focuses on the education of nobleman in the first half of the 19th century. The research is based on a study of those personal objects that are kept in the family archives of the Houses of Deym ze Střítěže and of Schwarzenberg. These two examples are linked to various important theories and principles of noble education and its targets. The inquiry into the roles of noble families in the education of their children and the study of changes in family relationships at the outset of the 19th century form a special focal point of this article. In addition, the analysis of the diary of the Countess Josephine Stackelberg, born of Brunswick and widowed of Deym, provides numerous interesting theoretical insights into the education and schooling process as well as into the role of educators and teachers in noble families. The chapters on the education of the sons of Karel I. of Schwarzenberg synthesize various archive sources ? in particular, correspondences, diaries, exercise books and grade reports ? and, thus, draw a realistic picture of noble education in the 19th century.	history; 19th century; education of nobleman; diary
