fre Gabriela Josepha de Schwarzenberg (1825-1843) et son roman scottien The Schwarzenberg archives contain the papers of Gabriela, the eldest daughter of Charles II of Schwarzenberg, who died at the age of 18. There are few official documents relating to her life; what remains are her study notebooks (including excerpts from the history of literature and art), a travel journal, a sketchbook, fragments of correspondence, and the manuscript of her “novel” Mizaël et Alice. It is set in England during the brief reign of Jane Grey and the early reign of Mary Tudor. The 16-page book, written in correct French, reflects the literary tastes and Anglophilia of the time. 19th century, juvenile writing; Romantic-era prose; Gabrielle de CŚchwarzenberg (1825-1843)
