eng	Alcibiades in the mirror: care of the soul and ἀκρασία	In this paper, I discuss why, according to Plato, the Socratic educational method did not work with Alcibiades. Contrary to the classical interpretation, which attributes the blame to the method itself, I intend to highlight how the responsibility should instead be attributed to Alcibiades. To support this thesis, I analyze some of the most famous passages from the relationship between Socrates and Alcibiades, taken from Alcibiades I and The Symposium, identifying the reasons for the failure in Alcibiades' ignorance and arrogance.
