Zároveň se snaží popsat styčné i odlišné aspekty české a německé hudby v průběhu jednotlivých historických etap. Autorka se zaměřuje na dobu od 9. století do roku 1740, a to jednak z důvodu omezeného rozsahu této publikace, jednak také proto, že ostatní období byla určitým způsobem zpracována již dříve. eng	German Music in the Czech Lands and the Traces of Czech Musicians in Germany from the 9th Century to 1740	The history of the Czechs and Germans, next-door neighbours, has been closely linked since the dawn of their history as has the music of both nations. It has been pervading, influencing and enriching each other since the 9th century. This article does not aim to map in detail the Czech-German musical relationships in their long and varied historical development, but it attempts to create at least a basic overview of them and tries to describe their converging and diverging areas in the course of particular historical periods. In this chapter of the monograph the author limits herself to the period from the ninth century to 1740, partly because of the restricted scope of this publication and partly because other periods have been treated somewhat better.
