eng Chapels of Imperial Envoys in Dresden in the Second Half of the 17th Century The paper deals with the activities of the chaplains of the Imperial envoys to Dresden in the second half of the 17th century within the contexts of history of Catholicism in Saxony and Imperial diplomacy in early modern period. It shows how the chaplain (who were mainly the members of the Order of Jesus) tried to enter public space of Lutheran city and it also analyzes the efforts of local people and authorities to defend the public space. The author deals with the most important conflicts (city patrols in front of the embassy, arresting the attendants of the Masses, arresting of several members of envo´s court, ban of the Masses in the absence of envoy, etc.) between 1660s and 1697 when the Saxon elector Friedrich August converted to Catholicism.
