Autor analyzuje misi hraběte Jana Marka z Clary a Aldringenu, který zastupoval císaře Leopolda I. v Sasku v letech 1686-1694. Autor zrekonstruoval itinerář hraběte, který dokazuje, že se jedná o velmi specifickou legaci, protože tento vyslanec nesídlil trvale v Sasku a přejížděl pravidelně mezi Čechami a Saskem. Přesto zůstal ve funkci poměrně dlouhou dobu a autor se snaží vysvětlit proč. Analyzuje úkoly, které hrabě v Sasku plnil, představuje jeho zástupce ve funkci legačního sekretáře a upozorňuje na velmi blízký vztah, který poutal hraběte k rodině saských kurfiřtů. Autor také dokazuje, že tato diplomatická mise výrazně přispěla ke vzestupu rodu Clary-Aldringenů v habsburské monarchii. eng	Johann Marcus Count von Clary und Aldringen as the Envoy of Leopold I at the Saxon court of the Prince elector at the End of the 17th Century	This study is a contribution to the history of Early Modern Age diplomacy and focuses on the mission of Johann Marcus Count von Clary und Aldringen, who represented Leopold I in Saxony in the years 1686–1694. The author summarises basic facts about this mission – Clary-Aldringen’s itinerary is closely analysed and provides evidence of the very special nature of this legation, which was rather dissimilar to diplomatic travels as we know them. In this case the envoy did not reside permanently in Saxony. Despite that he managed to remain in this post for a relatively long period and the author tries to account for the reasons. He analyses various tasks which the envoy had to carry out abroad; he also deals with the phenomenon of legation secretaries and describes the atypical relationship of the Count towards the Prince-elector’s family. Finally, he provides evidence that this mission contributed significantly to the rise of the House of Clary-Aldringen.
