Příspěvek se zabývá exodem vědců a studentů, ne však ze země do země, ale uvnitř státu, a to v rámci České republiky deset let po politické revoluci. Cílem příspěvku je ukázat a zdůraznit východo-západní směřování moderní germanistiky po pádu „Železné opony“ a jeho pozdější transformaci v opačném, západo-východním směru z hlediska migrace. To vše probíhá v důsledku tzv. spatial turn, který se odehrál ve vědních oborech jako kulturní studia, geografie, historie a germanistika. Najdeme tu však nápadnou paralelitu: spatial turn se stal realitou zhruba od roku 1980, první známky reflexe můžeme pozorovat ještě na podzim 1988, a pak na jaře 1989 (Plzeň). Od roku 1990 byla část tehdejší germanistiky formována ve smyslu prostorových mobilit, topografických pojmů, témat a publikací. Tuto konkrétní orientaci germanistiky lze chápat jako "vědu na cestě", což je podporováno a dokumentováno řadou konferencí, nedávných publikací, projektů a výzkumů a lze ji považovat za pokračování a další rozvoj toho, co se začalo v Západních Čechách.)	vztahy mezi Východem a Západem; spatial turn; profilování germanistiky; prostorové mobility; topografické koncepty; „věda na cestě“; změna politického režimu; nové projekty
eng	Science on the Road. German in the Transnational Context	The Department of Foreign Languages (the subject of study German for Business) at the University of Pardubice focuses on the issues that have emerged from the activities of German Studies at the University of West Bohemia (Pilsen). The contribution deals with an exodus of scientists and students that does not occur from country to country, but within a state, namely within the Czech Republic ten years after the political revolution. The paper attempts to show and emphasize the east-west orientation of modern German Studies specialization after the fall of the Iron Curtain and its later transformation in the opposite west-east direction from the perspective of migration. This is all due to the spatial turn which came to pass in the sciences such as cultural science, geography, history, and German studies. The parallel is striking: spatial turn has become reality since about 1980, the first signs of reflection we can even see in autumn 1988 and then in spring 1989 (Pilsen). Since 1990 a part of the then German Studies has been shaped in the meaning of spatial mobilities, topographical concepts, topics and publications.
