The codicil of Baltasar de Marradas from 1633"	"This study deepens the hitherto knowledge of the fate of the Spanish General don Baltasar de Marradas y Vique with a look into his private life. The basic source of information was the analysis of the Marradas codicil, dated 2 October 1633 at the South Bohemian Castle Hluboká nad Vltavou. The authors use an appendix to his last testament to reconstruct the relationship of this powerful Spanish warrior to his unofficial family in České Budějovice. They document the Duke?s effort to provide a dignifi ed living standard to his illegitimate son Gaspar Baltasar Marradas as well as the intensity of the general?s intimate relationships with townswoman Dorota, née Öller. The annex to the study is a critical edition of the Spanish-written codicil which is based on a specimen recently discovered in a private collection."
