The paper discussed a very specific aspect of the literary presentation of childhood - the use of child’s voice or perspective as a way of narrating a story. Child perspective is interesting both as a narrative technique and as a way of subverting traditional “adult” views on many issues. Outlining some of the narrative theory concerning the child narrative voice, the paper refered to selected texts of American fiction to illustrate its points.
