eng German Studies at the University of Pardubice. From German language for teachers till intercultural studies The article discusses the development of German Studies at the University of Pardubice, situated close to the river Elbe. The focus is on the change of the study program which was originally meant to prepare new German teachers for their future teaching careers and was later transformed into Business German Studies. Therefore, the portfolio of "German Studies in Pardubice" needs to be specified and described in greater detail: in Czech Republic, in Germany (the University of Bayreuth) and in the EU (for example the University of Seville). The information is provided by various projects that demonstrate the activities of the German Department in Pardubice: the research of German-Czech neighbourhood, the overcoming of the past, German Studies and media, the phenomenon of the border.
