Studies in Pedagogy for lower and upper secondary school teachers (formerly referred to as DPS: Supplementary Pedagogical Studies) provides graduates with the qualifications to teach at the second stage of primary schools (lower secondary) and at upper secondary schools (high schools).
Graduates are issued a university certificate of eligibility to teach at lower and upper secondary schools. This certificate is valid only when presented in conjunction with a master’s or engineer’s degree diploma in a relevant field of study.
This certificate entitles graduates to teach subjects in the areas of social sciences (Civics, History, Citizenship Education), Mathematics, natural sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology), Czech language, and foreign languages at lower and upper secondary schools.
