eng Rebuilding student teachers' preconcepts The paper discusses opportunities for development of professional competence of student teachers of English. The aim of the paper is to present student teachers‘ preconcepts, analyse and evaluate the role of reflection in their professional development. Reflections are based on the structured real lesson observations, debriefing face-to-face sessions with university tutors, and written reflections. The results indicate that students have difficulties when reflecting their experience. preconcepts; reflections; observations; professional development
