eng Academic Writing: Modal Verbs in the Role of Hedges This presentation is concerned with the use of modal verbs as hedging devices in bachelor theses written by students of English for Business. It aims to explore whether and how students apply their explicit knowledge concerning English modal verbs in academic writing.
