Studenti mají často tendenci vytvářet přímé vztahy ekvivalence mezi českou a anglickou strukturou a neuvědomují si, že konkrétní komunikativní funkce není přímou součástí této struktury. eng	Ways of building sentences in English and Czech.	The presentation focuses on differences between Czech and English sentence structures. Sentences are compared especially on the aspect of expressing reflexivity. Quite frequently students tend to establish one-to-one correspondence between particular English and Czech structure and they do not realize that the communicative function is not inherent in grammatical structure. The case of different uses of one grammatical form for various communication purposes will be shown on examples of Czech sentences with reflexive pronouns.	reflexivity; communicative function; contrastive approach; reflexive pronoun.
