cze Pozice jednoslovných příslovečných určení Práce se zabývá problematikou postavení příslovečného určení v anglickém slovosledu, a to v perspektivě osvojování si dalšího jazyka. Linearita je jedním ze základních charakteristických rysů jazykového systému, neboť jazykové jednotky nelze uspořádat jinak než lineárně. V každém jazyce ovšem platí jiná pravidla pro uspořádání těchto jednotek. Mezi angličtinou a češtinou existují typologicky značně rozdílné charakteristické rysy, což má za následek odlišnosti právě v uspořádání větných členů uvnitř věty. Anglický pořádek slov je tradičně nazýván fixní, český pořádek slov volný. Jde samozřejmě o charakteristiku značně zjednodušující. V obou jazycích je totiž pozice jednotlivých větných členů více či méně určována různými činiteli (gramatickými, aktuálního členění, emocionality výpovědi).Cílem práce tedy bylo definovat pozice, ve kterých se jednoslovná příslovečná určení v anglické větě mohou vyskytovat v závislosti na svých sémantických charakteristikách, zjistit, jak tyto pozice a jejich sémantické reprezentanty popisují tradiční deskriptivní gramatiky, a posoudit, jaké faktory toto postavení ovlivňují. Byl vytvořen jazykový korpus ze série nejběžněji používaných učebnic anglického jazyka pro české rodilé mluvčí (Headway) s cílem určit míru korespondence mezi poučkami obsaženými v deskriptivních, případně preskriptivních gramatikách a jazykovým materiálem obsaženým v těchto učebnicích. Na základě principu strukturní závislosti byly pro jednotlivé sémantické kategorie příslovečných určení definovány základní pozice, v nichž se odráží skutečnost, že se tyto modifikátory přiřazují do struktury věty na různých úrovních. Korpusová zjištění a teoretické zdůvodnění primárních pozic bylo doplněno o orientační posouzení gramatičnosti jednotlivých pozic anglicky mluvícími rodilými mluvčími. Závěrem byly aplikovány teorie osvojování si druhého jazyka, což umožnilo vysvětlit některé chyby českých rodilých mluvčí. Právě na základě srovnání procesů stanovení jednotlivých parametr
eng Positions of One-Word Adverbials; Placement of Verb Phrase Modifiers in the Perspective of Second Language Acquisition The study focuses on one narrow area of word order that seems to cause problems to Czech native speakers learning English as a second language, i.e. the position of adverbials within a clause. The scope is narrowed down to adverbials represented by one-word adverb phrases, modifying VP or higher structures, syntactically integrated into clauses. Adverbials are defined in contrast to other elements, and special attention is paid to the specific positions of adverbials functioning as verb phrase modifiers. The problem of placement of adverbials is particularly significant from the point of view of second language acquisition. Since adverbials are always labelled as the most flexible element in English clause structure, learners can very easily get the impression that they are free elements. Thus in the second chapter there are presented some concrete examples of actual textbooks to show how they deal with the topic. The aim of chapter 3 is to explain the situation on the basis of describing the universal principles and the parametric setting for the English language with some reference to the Czech linguistic situation. Using material from the textbooks compared to the British National Corpus findings, with help of English native speakers? judgments, ungrammatical structures are excluded. The theory of principles and parameters is applied to find reasons for the grammaticality of some structures and the ungrammaticality of others. The analysed English sentences are confronted with Czech counterparts with the aim to identify differences in parameter setting between these two languages.The final chapter is devoted to exploiting the findings from the previous chapters and using second language acquisition theory, in an attempt to explain the differences and to improve of the process of presenting, practising and testing this aspect of English grammatical structure.
