The project focuses on the innovation of compulsory and optional courses in the linguistic module of the MA study programme English Language Teacher Education. Purchasing the latest English linguistic books, modernizing the equipment and participating in conferences and other professional events will lead to higher expertise of the department. The current English linguistic topics will be included into individual courses, which will contribute to the students' professional and language competence increase. Pilot courses (innovated, modified and new optional) will be taught in the winter semester 2015/16. The feedback from students will enable us to modify the syllabi that will reflect the current trends in English linguistics. The innovated linguistic module will help to increase graduates' professional competence and their performance in teacher profession.
