The aim of the three-year project is to improve the quality of pre-service teacher education, in our case the education of student teachers of English at primary and lower-secondary levels in the structured bachelor and master degree programs. The project focuses on increasing contacts with real practice by extending teaching practice, implementing microteaching performances into schools, cooperating with in-service teachers in the selected courses, in specifying and supervising bachelor and diploma theses and in sharing experience). The main emphasis lies, according to the model of the teacher as a reflective practitioner, on integrating theory with practice, i.e. on developing the future English teachers' teaching skills.
