eng Experience with teaching the Romani language at the University of Pardubice The text describes the origins, development, and teaching methods of the Romani language in the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Pardubice and seeks answers to the question of the significance and benefits of including this subject in the curriculum, particularly for students of social and cultural anthropology. It is framed by a broader context, from the first texts on the Romani language published in the Czech lands, through the establishment of Romani studies at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, to the teaching of Romani by Milena Hübschmannová, whose former students are both teachers in Pardubice. During their studies, students of social and cultural anthropology in Pardubice carry out both joint and independent field research, during which many of them use their knowledge of the Romani language.
