Text má sloužit jako studijní materiál a jeho cílem je oslovit nejen studenty teoretické, ale především praktické filmové vědy, ale i širší okruh čtenářů, kteří se zajímají o vývoj myšlenkového tělesa o filmu a možná i v dějinách kinematografie. Těžiště díla, které z velké části vychází z překladových titulů doplněných o autorovy znalosti francouzské filmové teorie a filozofie (např. E. Morin, J.-L. Baudry, F. Lyotard), spočívá v inovativním převyprávění klíčových teoretických koncepty, které publikaci profilují především jako přehledového průvodce historickým vývojem kinematografické teoretické kontemplace. Originálním přínosem je systematické začleňování původní česky a slovensky psané původní teoretické reflexe do kontextu globálních trendů v oboru, upozorňující na skutečnost, že původní uvažování o filmu v teoretické rovině je poměrně silně ukotveno v místním prostředí. Text vychází z téměř čtyřicetiletého autorova zájmu o oblast filmové teorie. Působí jako pedagog na filmových školách a s teoretickými koncepty pracuje nejen na úrovni textů, ale ukotvuje je ve své dlouholeté praxi praktikujícího filmaře, kterému teorie sloužila jako reflexe jeho vlastních tvůrčích činů. eng	Theory (for) illusionists	This overview of the development of film theories tries to fill in the gap in the domestic studies of the history of film theories, with a synthesizing focus. The text is intended to serve as a study material and its objective is to appeal not only to students of theoretical, but especially practical film studies, and also to a wider circle of readers interested in the development of the body of thought about film, and possibly also in the history of cinema. The focus of the work, which is largely based on translated titles supplemented by the author's knowledge of French film theory and philosophy (e.g. E. Morin, J.-L. Baudry, F. Lyotard), lies in an innovative retelling of key theoretical concepts that profile the publication above all as an overview guide to the historical development of cinematic theoretical contemplation. An original contribution is the systematic incorporation of the original theoretical reflection written in czech and slovak into the context of global trends in the field, drawing attention to the fact that the original thinking about film in theoretical terms is relatively strongly anchored in the local milieu. The text is based on the author's nearly forty-years of interest in the field of film theory. He has been involved as a teacher in film schools and he works with theoretical concepts not only on the level of texts but anchors them in his long expertise as a practicing filmmaker, for whom theory has served as a reflection of his own creative acts.
