Vzhledem k tomu, že hudba je nástrojem, který dokáže vytvořit pozitivní a motivační atmosféru pro učení, věříme, že ve třídách, kde je hudba využívána jako hlavní učební pomůcka, existuje velký potenciál pro učení. Z tohoto důvodu uplatňujeme výuku založenou na písních jako součást rozvoje komunikační kompetence v angličtině. V rámci univerzitního kurzu s názvem Rozvoj komunikační kompetence v angličtině prostřednictvím populární hudby jsme provedli průzkum, jehož účastníky byli studenti bakalářského studijního programu Anglický jazyk. V rámci tohoto předmětu studenti prostřednictvím aktivit založených na populárních písních rozvíjeli jazykové prostředky i řečové dovednosti. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, jak studenti vnímají klima třídy (n = 49). Výzkumná otázka byla formulována následovně: Jak studenti vnímali socioemoční rozměr klimatu třídy během kurzu založeného na písních? K zodpovězení této výzkumné otázky byl využit výzkumný nástroj v podobě dotazníku. Z hlavních zjištění vyplývá, že studenti vnímali atmosféru ve třídách jako pozitivní, přátelskou, příjemnou a uvolněnou, a to především díky interakci s vrstevníky, přístupu učitelů a zpěvu. Závěrem lze říci, že tento konkrétní kurz založený na písních nese aspekty pozitivního socioemočního rozměru klimatu třídy. populární hudba; VAJ; klima třídy; rozvoj anglického jazyka
eng The Socioemotional Aspect of Classroom Climate in Songbased EFL Classes Based on current neuro-pedagogy, we need a safe and positive environment to be able to learn. Since music is a tool that can create a positive and motivational atmosphere for learning, we believe there is great potential for learning in classes where music is employed as the main teaching aid. For this reason, we apply song-based instruction as part of the development of our students’ communicative competence in English. Within the university course called Development of communicative competence in English through popular music, we conducted a survey the participants of which were students of a bachelor study program English Language, where different kinds of in-class songbased activities were aimed at developing all language components as well as all four language skills. The objective of the research was to detect the students’ perception of classroom climate (n = 49). The research question was formulated as follows: How did the students perceive the socioemotional dimension of classroom climate during the song-based course? To answer this research question, the survey approach was applied as the research strategy and a questionnaire was used as a methodology tool. The key findings indicate that the students perceived the atmosphere in the classes to be positive, friendly, comfortable and relaxed, mainly due to the interactions with their peers, teachers’ approach and singing. In conclusion, this particular song-based course carries aspects of a positive socioemotional dimension of classroom climate. popular music; EFL; classroom climate; English language development
