Cestování a orientální zájezdní hostince na Balkáně v době osmanské nadvlády Kapitola se v interdisciplinárním přístupu snaží představit charakteristiky cestování v evropských provinciích Osmanské říše v období od 15. do druhé poloviny 19. století. Pozornost bude soustředěna především na fenomén tzv. karavansarajů a hanů, tedy zájezdních hostinců, které se nacházely ve městech a v blízkosti cest. Nabízely nejen nocleh a zotavení, ale stávaly se také specifickým atributem společenského života a kolektivní paměti. Současně reflektovaly charakteristiky dobové každodennosti, jejíž svědectví podávají zejména cestopisy, které jsou v kapitole rovněž zmiňovány. Karavansaraje a hany jsou prezentovány jako specifický a sémioticky zřetelný znak balkánského cestování a každodennosti obecně. eng In the Light of the Crescent Moon. Travel and Oriental Inns in the Balkans during the Ottoman Rule In an interdisciplinary approach, the chapter tries to present the characteristics of travel in the European provinces of the Ottoman Empire in the period from the 15th to the second half of the 19th century. Attention will be focused primarily on the phenomenon of so-called caravanserais and hans, i.e. traveling inns, which were located in cities and near roads. They not only offered overnight accommodation and recovery, but also became a specific attribute of social life and collective memory. At the same time, they reflected the characteristics of everyday life of the time, the testimony of which is given especially by the travelogues, which are also mentioned in the chapter. Caravanserais and hans are presented as a specific and semiotically distinct sign of Balkan travel and everyday life in general.
