eng	Imperial ambassadors to Poland-Lithuania and their people: between the royal and aristocratic courts in the second half of the 17th century	This paper was based on research into the missions of several imperial ambassadors to Poland-Lithuania in the second half of the 17th century. The legations of Count Kollowrat (1658-60), Schaffgotsch (1669, 70, 74), Thun (1691), Nostitz (1693) and Czernin (1695) were compared. The sources show that due to the appointment to the prestigious post of ambassador, their court was significantly transformed. They all had the title of count and were surrounded by a court appropriate to their social status. However, they had to adapt to the fact that they represented the emperor at the highest level and their court had to look "as if" the emperor himself was travelling during the legation. Therefore, they had to make sure that they lived like the emperor (they had to have an audience room with a throne in the suite) and also that they had servants in a similar composition to the emperor. Therefore, their court underwent a significant transformation.
