The paper deals with the process of the acquisition of the post-White Mountain confiscated estate of Mašt'ov by the Spanish military commander Guillermo Verdugo. It describes the whole confiscation process that his representative in Bohemia, Baltasar Cigogna, had to go through to successfully acquire the mentioned confiscate. The paper does not focus only on the process as such, but places it in the broader context of the social ties without which Verdugo would not have become the owner of the Mašt'ov estate.
