eng	Emotions in cognition 4E	The aim of this contribution is to map out the paths we need to take to begin systematically exploring the role of emotions in 4E cognition. In particular, I will focus on their epistemic role, i.e. by considering emotions as knowledge carriers4. My reason for exploring the epistemic role of emotions within this research programme is that it assigns a specific primacy to the embodied and situated dimension of cognition. Exploring the epistemic role of emotions in 4E cognition thus allows us to study not only their cognitive function in terms of representation (as has been done in classical cognitivist studies), but also to study the epistemic role played by affective experience as embodied and situated.	emotions; Plato; philosophy
