He was a symbol of the Czechoslovak democratization movement "Charter 77" and together with Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev, Lech Wałęsa and Pope John Paul II; he is also a co-creator of revolutions in Central Europe and a participant in the end of the communist regime.
