Jaspers' ideas of atomic weapons, the control over their use and nuclear disarmament are set in the historical context. The study does not focus on the interpretation of Jaspers' thinking or elucidating its essence. The basic question is whether Jaspers' thoughts have been proved in history and managed to clarify the unstable peaceful coexistence of both the power blocs during the Cold War.
