Světec, jehož obliba je tradičně spjata s oblastí jižních Tyrol, byl ve druhé polovině 17. století účelově využit k potřebám rodové reprezentace hraběcího rodu Thunů v kontextu východočeského panství Choltice. Díky různým ikonografickým a pramenným indiciím můžeme sledovat stopy kultu tyrolského světce v oblasti východních Čech i přesto, že se Choltice staly jediným místem v rámci českých zemí, které se může pyšnit církevní stavbou zasvěcenou Romediovi z Thaur. Unique cult of St. Romedius of Thaur The chapter describes the prerequisites for the implementation and expansion of the cult of St. Romedius of Thaur in the territory of East Bohemia. In the second half of the 17th century, the saint, whose popularity is traditionally associated with the South Tyrolean region, was purposefully used for the representation of the Thun noble family in the context of the East Bohemian Choltice manor. Thanks to various iconographic and historical source indications, we can trace the cult of a Tyrolean saint in this region, even though Choltice became the only place within the Czech lands with a church building dedicated to Romedius of Thaur.
