Stať nejprve vysvětluje historické pozadí vzniku myšlenky pokroku, jakožto sekulárního principu řídící dějiny lidstva; který nahradil původní křesťanskou víru v Boží prozřetelnost. V dalším je analyzováno Jonasovo pojetí pokroku, zejména s ohledem na jeho kritiku marxistického utopického ideálu, jenž je v dynamice technologického pokroku implicitně obsažen. eng	The idea of Progress in Jonas work	The essay The idea of Progress in Jonas work, deals with Jonas´ understanding of the idea of progress as it is presented in his major work The Imperative of Responsibility (1979). Firstly, it introduces the historical background of the idea of progress as the secular goal of history which replaced the original Christian belief in the divine providence. Further, Jonas´ attitude towards this idea is analysed with the focus on his criticism of the Marxist utopian ideal, which is implicitly included in the dynamics of technological progress. Finally, it is shown that Jonas´ criticism of the utopian ideal indicates certain ways how to cope with the current threads that our world is facing.	Jonas, Progress
