eng Imperial Envoy Franz Sigmund Count von Thun and Dissimulation by the English King Charles II in the early 1680s I focused on the relationship of the English King Charles II and the Imperial diplomat Count Thun (1639-1702) who remained in England as an Extraordinary Envoy of Leopold I between 1680-1685 and tried with all possible means to persuade the King to join the Emperor. The paper was based on the Thun´s reports and I attempted to show the development of the Thun´s relation to the King.  early modern times; Habsburg dynasty; diplomacy; England; Charles II; Franz Sigmund von Thun
