eng The Relationships of Orthodox Churches to Other Religions and Traditions The speech will be given to several aspects of Orthodox Churches relations to other religions and traditions. In relations and understanding of non-Christian traditions, two uttermost approaches can be observed in the Orthodox Churches. These two approaches can be found in the early church and are to a large extent part of all Christian churches. 1) Non-Christian traditions are perceived as certain "proto-Christianity". Thus, in these traditions are found elements that correspond to Christian doctrines and beliefs. 2) Are these traditions understood as a manifestation of false religion. In the case of relations between Orthodox Churches and other Christian churches, heresy issues arise. The main topic that interferes with all approaches is doctrinal questions. These relationships, which can be observed in history in missions (in the case of non-Christian traditions) and in the conciliaries (in the case of relations with other churches), are reflected in the form of today's interreligious and ecumenical dialogues.
