cze	Brána do světa	Článek se zabývá historií a současností německého jazyka v Čechách, na Moravě a ve Slezsku. Popisuje některé vzájemné vlivy, historickou existenci Němců na českém a moravském území, význam němčiny před rokem 1989 a současnou ekonomickou situaci s významným podílem průmyslu a služeb z německy mluvicích zemí, které představují klíčový podíl v českém hospodářství. Navíc se rychle rozvíjejí četné přeshraniční kooperace podél téměř 1400 km dlouhé hranice s Německem a Rakouskem. Této situaci potom naprosto neodpovídá situace v českém školství, kde je výuka němčiny výrazně poddimenzována a tyto deficity musí nahrazovat iniciativy mimo rámec MŠMT ČR, jako je kampaň "Šprechtíme", aktivity sdružení Tandem a německého spolku Verein Deutsche Sprache. eng	A Gateway to the World	The article deals with the history of the German language in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, describes mutual influences in literature, fine arts and about all the importance of German for Czechs in history. The mastery of the German language meant for many Czechs a gateway to the world. Furthermore, the article characterizes the economic cooperation of the Czech economy with the German-speaking economic area, as well as the absolutely inadequate situation in the Czech school system, where German is neglected for various reasons. Only in recent years have various initiatives been attempting to reverse these negative tendencies, such as the "Šprechtíme" campaign or the activities of the organization Tandem or the Association of German Language (Verein Deutsche Sprache).
