eng Unamuno´s attitude to sciences and contemporary philosophy In general, the science is important, but not sufficient for the needs of human existence. These words could represent in short Unamuno´s fundamental thought on science and its role in the world and society. Unamuno noticed the growing rationalization in all aspects of human life which causes that those eternal and maybe never resolvable questions that our very existence implies are losing its importance to modern way of thinking. Some life values simply go beyond the range of reason and logic, therefore science is unable to calm the inner anxiety which is an inseparable part of human consciousness. It is necessary to restore those existential questions of our being and to realize how strong influence rationalizing science has on us. Unamuno; sciences; philosophy
