cze Komplexnost vyjadřování studentů v on-line příspěvcích Článek se zabývá komplexností jazyka asynchronní on-line komunikace. Byly analyzovány dva obdobně rozsáhlé korpusy studentských příspěvků ze dvou asynchronních internetových fór podporujících dva kurzy v rámci studia učitelství anglického jazyka. Vzhledem k tomu, že se lišil obsah i cíle diskusí, lišil se i způsob komunikace a použití jazykových struktur. Výsledky ukázaly, že délka a struktura jednotlivých zpráv je významně ovlivněna účelem konkrétního fóra; věty v příspěvcích fóra, které bylo zaměřeno na sociální interakci, jsou kratší, jednodušší a podobají se mluvenému dialogu, zatímco zprávy ve fóru, které se soustředilo primárně na věcnou diskusi tématu, jsou delší, komplexnější a mají prvky částečně nezávislých monologů. komunikace s podporou počítačů; asynchronní diskuse; psaný a mluvený jazyk; analýza diskursu; komplexnost jazyka
eng Complexity of Expression in Students’ On-line Chat Contributions This paper concerns the complexity of language of on-line asynchronous communication. Two corpora of a similar size are compared where students’ contributions were collected. They represent two on-line asynchronous forums which supported two courses of the TEFL Programme. Since the discussions had different topics and objectives, the way of communication and language structures also differed. The findings showed that the length and structure of messages are significantly influenced by the purpose of the forum; sentences within the forum which focused on social interaction are shorter, less complex and similar to face-to-face dialogues, while those in the forum which focused on topic discussion tend to display features of partly independent monologues. computer mediated communication; asynchronous discussion; written and spoken language; discourse analysis; language complexity
