What does Unamuno´s concept of death quite original and also very present-day for us is his dialectical approach to that problem, in other words his getting stuck between traditional and modern attitudes to understanding the world. According to Unamuno, modern man is brought to agonic dialectics of finality and infinity, a never ending struggle between death and our effort to live.
