cze Přehodnocení vztahu mezi religionistkou, teologií a nábožensky motivovanými cíli: Reakce na některé aspekty článku Luthera Martina a Donalda Wieba Tento článek se zabývá vztahem mezi religionistikou, teologií a náboženskými cíli v religionistice jako vědním oboru z hlediska situace střední a východní Evropy. Současně je tato stať reakcí na článek z Luthera Martina a Donald Wiebeho s názvem „Religious Studies as a Scientific Discipline: The Persistence of a Delusion“. Oba badatelé jsou zklamáni z podle nich obecné situace v religionistice, zejména z důvodu nábožensky motivovaných přístupů v bádání, které považují za nevědecké a ideologické. Podobně jako oni tvrdím, že religionistika, pokud chce zůstat vědou, se nemůže stát projektem, který řeší existenciální otázky badatelů nebo akademické obce. Jestliže se chce religionistika od takovéto iluze či klamu efektivně chránit, tak na rozdíl od Martina a Wieba zdůrazňuji, že se musí chránit nejen před teologizací, ale stejně tak i před všemi jinými pokusy vedoucími k proměně religionistiky ve filozofii (náboženství). Proto představuji religionistiku jako „skromný poznávací projekt“, jehož základem je empirie a deskripce a ústřední výzkumnou metodou historicko-filologická. eng Rethinking the Relationship between the Study of Religions, Theology and Religious Concerns: A Response to Some Aspects of Wiebe’s and Martin’s Paper This article deals with relationship between the Religious Studies, Theology and Religious Concerns from the situation of the discipline in Central and Eastern Europe. In the same time it’s the response to article of Luther Martin and Donald Wiebe titled “Religious Studies as a Scientific Discipline: The Persistence of a Delusion”. Both of them are generally disappointed of the late situation of Religious Studies as a field, especially because of religious motivation of scholars considered as ideological way of studies. I claim as they do if science is to stay scientific, it cannot become a “project” to solve the existential questions of a scholar or of the academic community. Whether the study of religions is to protect itself effectively from such a fallacy, unlike them I stress it must be wary not only of theology, but as well as of any attempts to changes into a philosophy (of religion). I promote that Religious Studies is “modest cognitive project”, an empirical and descriptive field to which historical-philological method is central.
