eng	Pilsen on the Way to the European Capital of Culture 2015	The present paper should support the initiative of the town Pilsen to become the European capital of culture 2015. A number of Ideas and suggestions developed by the researchers and students in Pardubice are being introduced. They were presented as an on-going project to the urban administration in Pilsen. A new model of German studies should be discussed as the social engagement of this philology plays a central role in this project.
