eng Direct Forms of Presentation in the Discourse of Newspaper Reports The presence of language (or thought) of others has become an indispensable part of journalistic writing. The paper is concerned with the use of direct forms of presentation in the discourse of British broadsheet newspaper reports. Based on the analysis of authentic data, it will show the frequency of occurrence of the most commonly occurring types, such as typical direct forms, free direct forms and so-called mixed forms, i.e. the combination of direct and indirect forms.
