Kromě toho se článek zabývá otázkou, čím lze vysvětlit shody a rozdíly v pojetí umění u Ibsena a Hofmannsthala. Nejvíce se předkládaný článek zaměřuje na vztah umělců k životu - resp. na otázku, do jaké míry Ibsen a Hofmannsthal pokládají život a umění za vzájemně slučitelné. eng The concept of art and the problems and issues of the artist in works by Hugo von Hofmannsthal and Henrik Ibsen The following article examines and compares the conception of art in the works of Ibsen and Hofmannsthal and describes the archetypes of the artist characters depicted within. Furthermore it will attempt to ascertain which influences can be attributed to the similarities and differences of the two authors in their conception of art. This article is primarily concerned above all other things with the relationship of art to life, in other words, to what extent Ibsen and Hofmannsthal depict life and art as compatible or incompatible.
