eng	Hofmannsthal's Der Kaiser und die Hexe in Relation to the Issues and Problems of the Artist	The article analyses the issue of the development of a young man to personality in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's play Der Kaiser und die Hexe. The analysis focuses particularly on possible ways of the connection of the main character with the world. The entry into existence (i. e. the main character's full participation in life) comes true in this play mainly by means of the main character's interpersonal relations. The article also deals with the relation of the piece to the issues and problems of the artist.
