Description:
The submitted three-year junior research project will contribute to growing number of studies within the broad methodological frame of social history of medicine. Definition of the analytical problem involves a need for thorough collection of evidence of historical development of historical sources related to both sides of medical encounter ? the doctor as well as the patient between the years 1769-1992. The practical dimension of interaction of both sides of medical field will be analysed from the two basic perspectives combining the analysis of performativity as one of the element of historical development and the interpretation of possible subjective and individual reaction of doctors and patients to a discursive determination. Judith Butler´s methodological approach will be applied on the analysis of performativity of the specific roles of the medical practitioner and the patient. Potential subjective reaction to an overwhelming socially constructivist element of discursive formations will be reflected from the methodological perspective of a phenomenology of perception.
