Description:
The Grant Project is concerned with the Romani folk songs based on the collection of the Projects Proposer as well as on the repeatedeld research performed in the Slovak and the Czech Republics. The Project reveals ethnopsychological meanings of the song lyrics by analyzing the cultural and mental patterns. In addition, it treats the issues of the language use, primarily the selection of motives and the language tools used to express such motives, bordering in some of its methods on ethnopoetics. When treating the epic components of the songs, the Project examines their historicity. The results of the research will be published in Czech as well as international journals and will be presented at a professional conference. The Projects output will provide not less than two partial papers and one omprehensive monograph, which will include, as its integral part, a selective edition of the song collection, a 4-CD album of authentic eld recordings, and a one-hour documentarylm. The monograph is to be published in English.
